Keep fit, build muscle tone & get in shape with your own personal Spinning trainer at home

Look amazing and feel great in less than an hour a day and from the comfort of your own home.

Millions of people all over the world love cycling. Just about everyone knows that cycling can give you a great overall workout and lead to a better, healthier lifestyle.

However, many of us just don’t have the time or are not confident to cycle on today’s busy roads, especially in the hours of darkness or in busy cities. Quite often cyclists want a more demanding route with varied gradients and challenges to improve their fitness and physique then can be found close to where they live. Then there is the weather… if you are not lucky enough to live in a dry and temperate part of the world, the weather can effect training schedules.

Around 30 years ago several cycle and sports manufacturers, aware of these problems, put much thought and design work into coming up with the perfect solution. And they did; Spinning!

As a result in the mid 1990s the new static cycle program called Spinning was introduced. It became so popular in the States that hard-core endurance athletes (who had moved to California to train outdoors) were driving 50-60 miles just to attend a 40 minute workout! People who participated would state how exhilarated they felt for several hours after their Spinning program workout had finished.

Although Spinning classes are often held in a studio, not everyone has the time to go to one. And not everyone wants to spend a small fortune in membership fees just to share a class with several other perspiring individuals either. As a result Spinning has now become very popular both as a solo home exercise and for like minded people who want to reach the peak of their fitness in small groups in private garages or rooms used as home gyms.

However, one thing that all Spinners have in common is the need for sound instruction from a professional Spinner who can really take them through their paces safely whilst still pushing the Spinner’s body in order to obtain that perfect muscle tone and slender profile.

Spinning can be a great way to get a vigorous workout, burning calories and keeping your muscles in great shape, especially during those winter months when the last thing you would want to do is take your traditional bike out on the road.

Huge advantages and benefits

Just a few of the advantages of Spinning from home are:

  • An effective workout
  • You can train in the off season and at night
  • Many varied routines to make the workout interesting
  • Great for all ability levels
  • Pushing your body each time to get the maximum return
  • A great workout to the music of your choice
  • No time needed travel to a gym or studio
  • You can fit into your own schedule day or night (not the instructors)
  • No expensive gym or instructor’s fees
  • You don’t need a crash helmet or lights!

What to expect during the Spinning workout?

Peter will guide you through warming up and on to steady up-tempo cadences, sprints, climbs and even crouch cycling followed by effective cooling down exercises to avoid sore muscles.

You will be shown what settings to have your bike on in order to control the resistance of your pedalling. Apart from your bike, all that you will need are some workout clothes, a towel and a full water bottle.

Spinning bikes tend to have toe clips so you can even wear tennis shoes or trainers however many pedals also work with Shimano-style SPD cleats too.

In this programme you will be shown through a set of real time workouts with Peter on his own Spinning bike. Once warmed up you will be guided through your session and your host will call instructions to you like “there’s a hill coming so now we are going to climb out of the saddle”.

The intensity of your Spinning workout is influenced by a couple of factors:

  • The cadence or pedal rate
  • The resistance of the bikes flywheel, adjusted frequently to make resistance easier or harder
  • The rider’s body position changing from seated to raised (or even crouched)

Right throughout the various workouts he will explain and guide you as to what settings you should have on your bike, as if you were there with him.

But best of all, your instructor will encourage you through your routine motivating you to push yourself. Spinning is a great way to stay in shape and build your muscle tone and general fitness for when you either can’t or prefer not to get outside on two wheels!
